Archaelogy in simple terms can be defined as understanding of the common cultural roots of all humankind, about the change in culture,where as Anthropology is the science that deals with the origins, biological and cultural development and beliefs of humankind.

In florida there will be an annual event called as Florida Archaeological Month conducted by Florida Anthropological Society (FAS),the Florida Archaeological Council, the Department of State, Division of Historical Resources, and the Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks.

The main aim or purpose of this event is to educate florida residents to learn about archaeological resources and their precarious existence. Also this event higlights archaeological research projects being conducted by the state of florida and universities
